How to Unlock Endless Ragnarok
Step-by-step unlock requirements for Endless Ragnarok story, Chaos quests, Summons, Conflux, and all six new playable characters.
Base Game Requirement: Proto Bahamut
The gateway to Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok is clearing the quest The Tale of Bahamut's Rage, the battle against Proto Bahamut at the base game's finale. This unlocks Chaos-difficulty quests and allows you to begin the expansion story arc. Summons—the signature new combat mechanic—unlock as soon as you start Endless Ragnarok's story and obtain your first Summon ally.
Unlike the base game's chapter-based narrative, Endless Ragnarok story events unlock through clearing specific quests rather than traditional chapter progression. This design lets you tackle content in flexible order once prerequisites are met.
How to Unlock The Conflux Solo Mode
The Conflux becomes available much earlier than the expansion story. During Chapter 6 of the base game main story (before departing for Dahli Island), a new side quest appears in Seedhollow that unlocks Cycle 1 of the Conflux. Portals also exist in Tredame Sanctuary.
- Cycle 1: Start the Chapter 6 side quest in Seedhollow
- Cycle 2: Progress through Hard-difficulty quests
- Cycle 3: Progress through Maniac-difficulty quests
- Deeper Cycles: Advance through Endless Ragnarok story content
See our Conflux Cycles guide for reward differences per cycle.
Unlocking Six New Playable Characters
Each new character has a unique unlock path rather than being available from the start:
- Beatrix and Eustace: Trade Crewmate Cards at the Knicknack Shack. Additional card sources are added in the full release.
- Gallanza and Maglielle: During Chapter Ø, progress Hard-difficulty quests until a specific cutscene plays, earning unique Crewmate Cards for trading.
- Fraux and Fediel: Join your crew automatically as you progress through Endless Ragnarok's main story.
Visit the new characters overview for combat role breakdowns and the tier list for team planning.
Platform and Save Data Notes
Upgrade Kits carry over existing save data on the same platform only. Cross-platform upgrades are not supported—you must purchase the Upgrade Kit on PS5 if your save is on PS5, Steam if on PC, etc. Crossplay for multiplayer activates across all platforms once you own Endless Ragnarok, but your purchase and save remain platform-bound.
Assist modes can now be enabled in Maniac and Proud difficulty quests in Endless Ragnarok, making the path to Chaos prerequisites more accessible for returning casual players.
