Whether you stopped after clearing The Tale of Bahamut's Rage or pushed through Lucilius Zero, the gap between prepared and unprepared skyfarers will be immediately visible once Chaos-difficulty quests open. Developers confirmed that beating Zero is not required, but veterans who completed it will breeze through early expansion content while others must learn new systems like Summons and Master Traits under pressure.

The base game's endgame systems remain the foundation: character masteries, weapon forging, sigil synthesis, Wrightstones, Mirage Munitions, and Terminus weapons all feed into your power level when Endless Ragnarok begins. Returning players who skipped side content should prioritize weapon upgrades during the main story, as upgrading weapons simultaneously unlocks nodes in your weapon mastery tree even if you replace the weapon later.

Every character you plan to main in Endless Ragnarok should reach level 100 before launch if possible. Masteries unlock stat bonuses and ability enhancements that compound with the new Master Trait system introduced in the expansion. Over-mastery farming becomes relevant once base masteries are complete, granting additional power for Chaos-tier encounters.

Focus on a core team of four characters first rather than spreading resources across all 23 base roster members. The expansion adds six new playable characters—Beatrix, Eustace, Gallanza, Maglielle, Fraux, and Fediel—but your existing mains like Sandalphon, Lancelot, or Charlotta will carry you through early Chaos quests while you learn new kits.

Upgrade weapons consistently as you progress rather than hoarding materials. The forging system ties weapon levels to mastery unlocks, creating long-term value even for weapons you eventually replace. Use the Wishlist system to target specific weapon drops from quests you can farm reliably.

Sigils define endgame build optimization. Priority targets include Alpha+, Beta+, and Gamma+ sigils traded from Lucilius drops, War Elemental+ and Supplementary Damage V+ from Maniac and Proud curio appraisals, and Berserker Echo+ / Spartan Echo+ from boss rushes. Use Zathba's Appraisal for curios, Transmarvel for rerolling stats, and sigil synthesis to push toward best-in-slot rolls. Fortitude Crystal L and Silver Centrum farming routes remain essential daily activities.

Two weeks before launch: clear The Tale of Bahamut's Rage if not done, reach level 100 on your main four, and complete Fate Episodes for bonus stats. One week before: farm premium sigils, finish Terminus or Ascension weapons on primary DPS characters, and stock Knickknack Vouchers for the six new crewmate cards.
